DOMINIC
A good first novel. A dog is offered an exciting and dangerous path to adventure by a magical alligator. The dog, Dominic, takes the challenge and finds: treasure, friends, enemies, death and then, finally, love. But, that is a common story and says nothing of Steig's language, humor and courageousness of ideas. Nor, the odd fairy tale ending that feels stapled on to the end of the book.
Life is better with Dominic.
